Process Overview of surgical and non-surgical treatment
At Texas Spine & Neurosurgery, our patients undergo a thorough initial evaluation, including a thoughtful review of their symptoms, medical history, imaging studies and test results. We approach patient treatment with the most conservative therapy possible, given the patients’ individual set of symptoms and needs. The majority of our patients do not require surgery. Once a patient does require surgery, Dr. Zielinski will carefully review any imaging studies reviewed beforehand, go through the surgical plan with the patient and start to plan ahead the post-operative care such as recovery, post-op medication, activity restrictions and the ability to go back to work.
We encourage our patients to take an active role in their own care but always provide guidance regarding the optimal treatment options for them. In some cases, such as those involving spinal cord compression, neurologic deficit, or primary brain tumors, we provide cutting-edge surgical treatment of spinal disorders and use minimally invasive techniques whenever possible.
