The tube is passed down through the small incision and allows the surgeon to remove or repair a herniated disc. Most of the tissues are not cut during the procedure. Instead, they are simply moved aside. Blood loss is minimal. Usually, the minimally invasive procedure takes less than an hour and the patient can go home on the same day of their surgery.
